I've only got 2 COPS figures, and they are both CROOKS. Yesterday I opened Koo Koo and today, I'll be opening his pal, Hyena. It's Figures February here on Toy a Day, and if you're just joining, I'm writing about a new toy that I've opened in the past few days (usually on the day itself), one for each day of the year.
The card for Hyena is similar to Koo Koo's, but it's obviously modified for Hyena. The crazed image on the front seems a bit scary, but at least they didn't obstruct it with the starburst as they did with Koo Koo. Hyena is packaged with a plain vanilla pose, but the bunch of stuff in between his feet seems messy. The back has the usual suspects, but I have to say that it's a nice touch using drawings as opposed to the pictures of the real toys on the back.
Hyena comes with his gun, a wig-hat of sorts, a sheet of decals, a harness, a dagger, a pistol and a roll of caps. The helmet-wig thing looks weird, and the decal is meant to be stuck onto the front of the helmet apparently. I didn't do that because I really don't like peeling stickers. The gun is bright shocking pink, and it's only saving grace is that that is where the caps goes. Like Koo Koo from yesterday, the roll of caps still works fine, so that's good.
It took a while to figure out how to place the harness on the figure, but I finally did it. The harness has slots for the dagger and the pistol, which makes Hyena very well armed.
The figure itself is good, and the sheet of shiny silver cape adds to the overall look without obstructing the articulation. It has the same amount of articlation as Koo Koo - neck, shoulders, elbows, waist, hips, knees and ankles. The paintwork, even on the face is good and overall, the figure looks a lot more... crazy than the yellow mohawk Koo Koo.
This was a great line of toys... if it got remade in this day and age, it will definitely be awesome.

These guys seem to like purple a lot! And now pink? Some fruity crooks we have here!
