#631 of Year 2 Lego 7288 City Mobile Police Unit

Another day, another City Police set in the City Police week of Speed September 2011 here on Toy a Day.  Today, I'm opening another new (as in 2011) set, and like the set on Wednesday, this is another Police truck.

The box is typical of a Lego City set.  It's a bit boring, but at least the set fills up the front of the box.  The back shows all the action features and that there are numbered baggies inside.

There are four baggies inside, together with three instruction booklets, a decal sheet and a train chassis.  Well, what I associate to be trains anyways.  Add some magnetic boogies and this could be a train carriage instead of a truck, but I digress...

Baggie number 1 builds the cop and the robber, complete with gold bar...

... the cycle for the cop and a nice small red car (with openable door) for the robber.  The car is only four studs wide, which departs from the modern norm, but would fit in with what has been done in the previous millennium.

Baggie number 2 builds the cab.  It is six studs wide and has openable doors as well.  The SNOT front is typical of vehicles these days.  I can't help thinking that this cab has enough parts to build Optimus Prime somehow...

Baggie number 3 builds the main part of the trailer.  It has an operations room and a slammer at the back.  It uses decals to give it quite a bit of that busy look.

Baggie number 4 completes the trailier.

It includes the addition of a storage area in the front, the roof and the undercarriage of the trailer.

Overall, this set is interesting.  Thanks to the vehicles, it's playable.  It also fits in with the modern City police vehicles (as opposed to the World City truck).  The design could be a bit streamline, but otherwise, it's a solid set.
