September 2010 Matty Release day.

Tomorrow, is another MattyCollector.com release day, and it's a rather quiet day after the busy-ness that was SDCC and August.  Only 2 MotUC figures are on sale, with a third figure from the Ghostbuster line.  Egon is the said character, and I think it's the first unslimed version of him so he might be popular.  And he comes with a pile of books, so bibliophiles might want that as well.  There shouldn't be too much other competition for the MotUC stuff, which are to be honest, not some of the most in demand characters, so, it might be a good day for those going in.

Chief Carnivous is the subscription figure for the month, and it's one that I don't have to worry about thansk to the subscription.  My Millenniumcat, which is my name for this figure, he's actually a Qadian from the millennium series, has already shipped, according to Mattel, so I should be getting it in 3 weeks time.  Yeah, I know.  That sucks, but what can I do?  Especially now that I've figured out how to get them shipped to me faster!

Nobody knew the existance of Gygor until Mattel announced it earlier in the year.  He's supposed to be a Big Jim gorilla that's to double as a steed, but he never got made.  Well, Mattel is now making him as part of the Classics.  Nobody knew about him until this year, so I have no idea how popular he'd be.  But I'm getting him just in case I regret not getting it later.  So it's just the one figure for me this month... or is it?

Mattel has announced that there's a special something on the 29th, but have not yet given the details.  Current speculation is that this is a clearance for unsold stock.  We shall see what happens.

  1. I think the 29th will be Battle Cat...or that could just be hopeful dreaming...

  2. Well, I'm sure they do have unsold stock of Battle Cats sitting around. The fight for them will be fierce though.

  3. Gah...I think I didn't put my verify code in correct again! Dagnabbit...

Anyway, I have a Chief Carnivus on his way via sub and I'm trying for Gygor tomorrow...but I don't know if I should get another Carnivus or Gygor. I don't feel good about paying that extra shipping for 1 item. lol

I have a correction about Gygor though, he was first mentioned, and described in detail, in Roger Sweet's book "Mastering the Universe" a few years ago. I always wanted a copy of that book but could never find it. :(

This is the first many fans have heard of him though. Nobody knew about Demo-man though. lol Demo-man. *shakes head*

  4. Well, yeah, Gygor and Demo-man were first mentioned online to the majority of the online public just recently... unlike He-Ro, of whom we have known about for ages.

  5. That's true. He-Ro had catalogue picture evidence and knitting patterns! lol

  6. Knitting Patterns? That would be so weird yet cool in a nerdy kind of way...

  7. Yep. He's only on the cover and not actually one of the knitting patterns though. lol

  8. I have no idea where you find the time to find all those weird trivia. Then again, you don't run a blog with the ambitious (honestly, it wasn't that ambitious when I first thought of it, at least not that I imagined it to be) goal of opening a toy for each day of the year...

  9. lol Im a toy-aholic, so I come across crazy things all the time.

I have a mini, orange She-Ra mask like the 80's toy complete with stickers that, to this day, NOBODY knows where it came from. lol

A toy a day is ambitious and expensive! It's cool to see someone do it. :)

  10. Well, the alternative was to open over 500 toys over a week. I'm not sure I want to do that. And yes, I probably would still have enough for half of next year, but I don't want to do this agian next year.

  11. That would be craziness, Novelty! Sometimes I get a stockpile and have to open a lot of toys at once...but never anything like 500 toys! lol

  12. Well the stockpile has been more than 5 years in the making. I'm almost at toy number 300 and I know I can definitely last till the end of the year, and then go beyond. 400 toys easy. I have no idea how much more over 400 I'll have. It may be 500, it may be 600, it may be more. I do know I have a lot (and I mean a whole room full) of Lego that I have yet to open... and this year has put a crimp on opening them. I'll continue the numbering for next year (but it won't be one every day) and we shall probably see how many I have to open...

  13. So looking back at Gygor day on Matty, it was the worst one yet. Their site sucks donkey balls. I can't wait for your Gygor and Carnivus figures Novelty. Good stuff.

On a different note, I love Ghostbusters. It's one of my favorite movies, and I own the special firehouse complete dvd collection of the cartoon series.

All that being said, I just can't get into Mattel's Ghostbuster line. I don't like how they are accessory light, I don't like that it took them so dang long to release the four main Ghostbusters, and where are the dang ghosts?

Mattel really screwed that line up from what I have seen. Or am I wrong?

  14. Woah Novelty, where do you store it all? LEGO ROOM?! lol I thought I was drowning in toys. I mean I AM, but I sure don't have a whole room of LEGOs lol.

  15. @Thrawn: Gygor came today, but I haven't had the time to open the box. And there's a nice thread at It's All True about Ghostbusters.

@EDL: It's not just the Lego Room. It's got my MotU stuff in there too :)
