#446 of Year 2 Lego Bionicle 8949 Kirop

Lego has always had a fondness of Bats, and this shows in the Bionicle line too.  Kirop is a batlike character, and he comes in a box that looks relatively creepy as well.

The three-piece packaging was held together with a plastic band of sorts.  Only the centre part of the packaging is paper though, the top and bottom "bookeneds" are made from the same plastic as the contents.  The front has a huge picture of the set inside, with really large font for the age recommendations.  The Lego logo, by contrast is tiny.  The back of the packaging is wordy, and it shows how Kirop can combine with Chirox to form a rather weird mutant...

I'm still surprised that there's no baggies inside some of these Bionicle sets, everything is just loose inside the box.  The instruction sheet is clear and nicely illustrated, but the back of it shows the other figures in the line, just like the instruction sheets of yore, I guess.

The build wasn't too difficult.  This is snap-on Lego after all.  The actual model looks a bit weird with the undersized bat wings on the back and the oversized weapons in its arms.  I'm not sure I actually do like him and the Bionicle line in general.  I still wonder why I bought him in the first place...
