Dragon Blaster Skeletor - an ebay story.

So yesterday, Mr. Wade Thurman was bragging about his newly acquired Sy-Klone.  I think that's great that he finally has the figure (not that not having it would have stopped Mr. Sunday from having a crush on him... but I digress...).  Anyways, I went to Ebay and did some random searches and saw a rather nice complete Dragon Blaster Skeletor for $45 with 6 more minutes to go.  "Hah!," I thought to myself, "let's jack up the price on that Skeletor!".  So I placed a bid for $48.88 and hoped that the buyer will get closer to $50 for it.

The price creeped up to $46, and I was the highest bidder.  4.5 more minutes to go.  Help!  I don't want a DB Skeletor for that price.  Heck, I can't afford a DB Skeletor for that price.  3 minutes.  2 minutes, and the price was still at $46.  Come on, someone bid on this figure!  60 seconds, and I was still the highest bidder. 30 seconds - ack, I'll have to pay $46 plus shipping for a Dragon Blaster Skeletor.  10 seconds - what, nobody is sniping this figure?  Closed.  Ack, I've actually won a Dragon Blaster Skeletor that I didn't really want in the first place and I don't think I can afford.  Moral of the story - don't bid on something that you (aka I) can't afford.

Anyways, I paid for it since I've already got it and guess what, less than 24 hours later it's status has changed to "shipped"!  Wow, I'm now the proud owner of a $46 complete (I hope) Dragon Blaster Skeletor.

  1. Hahahahaha! That's just too funny! I respect that you put the money out and went through with it, but hate you had to buy that figure for that price! Wow.. I look forward to hearing your take on it when it comes in! =) But Ebay? Not fun.

  2. Actually, a carded DB Skeletor goes for about $100 (and upwards). And the lock and chain can go for about $20 since those aren't the easiest thing to find complete. I think $46 is slightly steep for it - I wouldn't have paid more than $30 for it, but I now I have. Oh well.

  3. Why bid on something you don't want?
You could have got a stolen chinese Tytus for that.
