It's still Kenner week featuring Robocop here on Toy a Day, and I'm going back to another Ultra Police today, a guy who's nicknamed Torpedo. I'm not sure I want to know how he got that nickname.
Torpedo has the second series of card, as evident from the cardback. The figures with the caps on the weapons do seem to have individual pictures for the action features on the back. The front of the cardback has a rather nice action shot of Torpedo firing his boomstick which makes for a rather nice money shot.
The figure comes with two rolls of caps, the huge bazooka gun and a huge red missile. The missile does have some white paint on it, but is otherwise boring. The bazooka has a wrist-mount and quite a lot of detail, but no paint. It's similar to the gun from Callahan where the caps trigger also fires the missile. Again, I didn't try the caps on the gun.
The figure has the usual 5 points of articulation, and like all the Ultra Police good guys so far, he's got Vacmetal on his chest and the word POLICE down his right leg. His face sculpt is good, although the paint there seems a bit clunky. He's got nice details all over his body sculpt from the lines on his chest to the pistol on his left leg. The paintwork on the body seems sharper than the face somehow.
This is the last of the Ultra Police I've got to open, and I must say, thanks to the vacmetal and the logo on their breasts and legs, they look like an interesting bunch. Just opening these makes me want to get some more, so I went on ebay earlier and bought a figure. Watch this space for the preview in a couple of weeks.
