#752 of Year 3 Strawberry Shortcake Fresh Fashions Botique

It's the last day of February.  It's also a leap year and we do have a 29th today.  Yay.  I'll just end Female Fabruary with a playset from Strawberry Shortcake, the Fresh Fashions Boutique.

#751 of Year 3 Strawberry Shortcake Goodies-To-Go Scooter

It's the penultimate day of February, and I'm still on a Strawberry Shortcake spiel for Female February!  Today, it's the eponymous character herself, complete with a scooter.

#750 of Year 3 Strawberry Shortcake Breezy Butterfly Swing

I got this toy because of the butterfly in the corner.  It caught my eye as I was walking past the Strawberry Shortcake aisle.  I have no idea why I like the butterfly though.  I guess the huge transparent windows on the packaging really works to promote the toy and increase sales.

#749 of Year 3 Strawberry Shortcake Berry Sweet Convertible

Another day., another Strawberry Shortcake toy.  This one is the repainted version of the Strawberry Shortcake pink car and it comes with Plum Pudding instead of Strawberry.  I think it's the better version.

#748 of Year 3 Strawberry Shortcake Cookie Celebration

I'm closing off Female February with the stuff that finds its way into my shopping basket.  Okay, okay, I have a thing for Strawberries.  I just like the taste of them, licking them, savouring them - it's just heavenly.  Where was I again?  Oh yes, the new Strawberry Shortcake line has been going since Hasbro got the rights to them and although they started with rooted hair, more and more of the figures are getting sculpted hair... including the only minority figure in the current franchise: Orange Blossom.

#747 of Year 3 Lego 3187 Friends Butterfly Beauty Shop

This the the third Friends set that I have got so far.  Unlike the other two sets, which I got to be used to furnish my modular houses, I got this set for the great looking front.  It doesn't have a back or a roof though, and I'm not sure if it will fit into my city streetscape, but well, lets rip her open and find out.

#746 of Year 3 Lego 3933 Friends Olivia's Invention Workshop

Another day, another Friends set for Female February.  It's Olivia's turn today, and she's one of the more non-traditional female set as this features a workshop and a lab of sorts.  I do applaud Lego for going this route, but could this be the "token" non-female job/role?  Well, I'm going to put philosophy aside and just focus on the toy.

#755 of Year 3 Lego 3930 Friends Stephanie's Outdoor Bakery

Someone has suggested that I could call this Foxy February.  Well, that could be the case, but this isn't about four legged animals.  It's about females this month and I'm moving into the new Lego theme that I was curious about since I'm not the target demographic.  It's friends and it's for little girls and I'm neither little nor a girl.

#744 of Year 3 My Little Pony Feathermay

Last year I opened Rainbow Dash and thought it was OK.  Fast forward to Christmas when the ponies were on sale and I was walking past the aisle because, well, it's the part of least resistance (in more than one sense of that phrase).  Feathermay apparently fell into the shopping basket (although that's disputed).  So here I am opening another Pony.  Good things come in twos?

#743 of Year 3 MotUC Star Sisters (Tallstar and Glorybird)

It's still Females February.  I can't seem to find a catchy name to call it this year since I've used Femme Fatale February last year.  And the month is usually a female-centric month.  Well, one out of twelve months isn't very gender-equal, but hey, I don't run the industry - there aren't that many female action figures, which is a sad fact of the industry.  Anyways...

#742 of Year 3 MotUC Battleground Evil-Lyn

It's the start of February and February is usually a female month here on Toy a Day, at least for the past 2 years.  So this year will not be anything different.  And to tie in to the theme from January, here's Battleground Evil-Lyn, complete with her gitd staff!

Toy A Day, What's in store for 2012... and Novelty's other projects.

I can't believed I did it.  For two years, that's 730 days, I opened one toy a day (well, on average for the second year anyways) and wrote about them here on this blog.  Along the way I've made many friends and have had many adventures.  I must say I've had fun in the past two years.

Reaching for the moon!

Action Figure Displays - Space #1 and Alley

Okay, so it was Christmas and Action Figure Displays had their Christmas display on sale again.  Since mine is a bit damage from over use (heh!), I decided to get another one.  But I couldn't just get one, no sir-ree, since I'm ordering, I might as well order a few of the others that I had my eye on, including another Dark Castle so that I can use it for display.
