#492a of Year 2 Lego 4519 Trains Rail Crossing

Lego Trains has had a long history, right from the 1960s where push trains were the norm to the height of the system when they had their own theme in the late 80s and 90s.

The rail crossing box shows it to be part of the Trains theme with the usual grey (instead of yellow) colour box.  The front of the box has a picture of the one piece inside, while the back has a picture with trains running over it connected to a track.

There's nothing fancy about this piece, other than the fact that it's old grey instead of bley, and it has metal conductors on the top of the tracks to allow for the 9V (and the earlier 12V?) trains that pick up power (from a different transformer thing) via the rails.  The thing with this is that because of the way it's constructed, my trains have been derailing when they go over this crossing, so I've removed it from the layout for the time being.  One has to wonder if Lego can ever make a good crossing piece.
