#433 of Year 2 Transformers Animated Samurai Prowl

It's still Transformers Animated week here on Toy a Day as part of Mecha March.  I'm surprised by the amount of chatter that's going up this week about the TFA... from where to order them online to Arcee's thumbs being broken.  I continue today with Ninjabot, aka Samurai Prowl.  That's Prowl with Yoketron's helmet.  Basically, in the cartoon, Lockdown, who's a packrat has a spare Yoketron helmet lying around so he gave it to Prowl to team up or something like that.

#432 of Year 2 Transformers Animated Ironhide

I'm still running through Transformers Animated week here on Toy a Day as part of Mecha March.  Unlike the former Transformers Animated week way back in August last year, this year, the toys are mainly the Japanese toys from TakaraTomy.  The difference is that the paint schemes are slightly different, with brighter metallic colours on the Japanese toys.

#431 of Year 2 Transformers Animated Wingblade Optimus Prime

OK, so I was a bit on the fence when I saw this in the Japanese import store.  I mean, I already have a Cybertronian mode Prime and a Battle Damaged one from the 2-pack.  What I didn't like was that either one of those were tiny when compared with figures such as Ratchet.  So grudgingly, I picked up this Wingblade Prime, hoping I won't regret it.  Welcome to Transformers Animated Week of Mecha March 2011 here on Toy a Day!

#430 of Year 2 Transformers Animated Cliffjumper Activators

It's the first themed week of Mecha March.  I've been itching to open up the rest of my TFAs since I do really really like that line, and I guess this week I get to open them all!  Welcome to the TFA week of Mecha March and rather than start big, I'll start small, with an Activator.

I must confess that I opened this the day I saw the first episode of the Prime cartoon, so that cartoon is gonna be one of my most hated versions of the Transformers.  Heh, just kidding.  Still, to kill Cliffjumper right at the beginning?  Not good.

#429 of Year 2 Transformers RotF Skids and Mudflap

Yes, I do have a Revenge of the Fallen toy, despite my dislike of the Bayformers.  Welcome to Mecha March here on Toy a Day, and today, it's a two-pack - Skids and Mudflap, which combines to form an ice cream truck.  When I saw the model in the movie, I told myself that I must get the toy because it's so cool that we have an ice cream truck transformers.  Then in the next instant, I told myself Hasbro will never make such a model because he was only in the movie for such a short time.  Well, I was wrong, and to figuratively eat my hat, I got the toy.

#428 of Year 2 Transformers RtS Megatron

Just in case anyone is still wondering, I'm still on Mecha March, where I'm opening toys that fit my definition of Mecha.  A Mecha is a huge giant robot thing usually piloted by a erm... humanoid, but in my definition, it's not always so.  Hence, I'm opening Megatron today (although I have to say that the original Transformers toys including the Dinobots had little pilots and cockpits...)

#427 of Year 2 Zoids Reptojaguar Set

I do remember that I was gonna purchase all the first 6 Zoids in this range, but was out of money, so I got the two sets and the two blue creatures thinking that I'll go back for the other 2 red creatures.  Alas, I never got to the red creatures and they were all gone before I could get them so I'm left with the sole red Neo Blox Zoid.  Now the Zoids have always been Blue = good guys, Red = bad guys, and I guess this time around it's the same story again, except that I'm way short on my red guys.

#426 of Year 2 Zoids Brave Jaguar Set

Japan likes odd numbers.  Three, Five and Sevens in particular.  Hence the number of syllables in a haiku, for example.  This obviously extends to most everything - there are usually 5 power rangers, for example, or in this case, three blue Neo Blox Zoids.

#425 of Year 2 Zoids Hurricane Hawk

Mecha March continues with the next Zoids toy.  Nope, it's not a Zoids week this week, just a Zoids half-week or so.  I wish I could have made it a full Zoids week, but I don't have enough for them now since I opened a few last year, and I haven't been buying any of these, since, well, I can't really afford them these days, not with my MotUC habit.  Hi, I'm Novelty and I spend way too much money on mattycollector.com :(

#424 of Year 2 Zoids Hardbear

It's a new month!  And that means there's a new theme month.  Mecha March!  This year I'm not going the easy way out by calling it Mecha.nic.al March like I did last year and interspersed the Mechas with Mechanical items.  It's Mecha all the way this year!  We kick off with Tomy's Zoids, or Neo Blox Zoids to be exact.  Yes, I know by the time these came out Tomy had merged with Takara, but the Zoids line will always be a Tomy line to me.
